Capability Boundary

What ABYSS can and cannot do.

ABYSS is visual fluid AI for reviewing visible changes in fluid scenes. It can support operator review, patrol reduction, notification candidates, and record creation, but the actual scope must be validated with site-specific footage and operational criteria.

Can Do

What ABYSS can support.

Visible fluid-state change

Surface motion, flow direction, turbulence, stagnation, foam, scum, oil-film candidates, turbidity appearance, and level change.

Candidate alerts and records

Surface candidate events, evidence frames, timestamps, summaries, and review records for operators.

Scoped operational support

One asset, one visible anomaly, and one operational decision, connected to an existing review workflow.

Needs PoC

What must be validated before a claim is made.

ABYSS depends on what the camera can actually see and how the operator defines action-worthy change. A practical PoC checks both.

Camera conditions

Angle, lighting, reflections, night visibility, rain, target size, camera movement, and lens contamination.

Normal and abnormal footage

Normal, abnormal, and ambiguous clips are compared after NDA when footage review is needed.

Operator judgment criteria

What human reviewers consider caution, abnormal, urgent, or irrelevant must be documented.

Integration context

Sensor data, SCADA, patrol records, notifications, dashboards, APIs, and responsible users define the value of detection.

Cannot Do

What ABYSS should not claim from footage alone.

Final compliance or quality decisions

Regulatory, pharmaceutical, food, or final water-quality decisions require existing procedures, measurement, and responsible review.

Official flow-rate measurement

Flow and level appearance can be reviewed, but official measurement requires validated geometry, calibration, and external data.

Universal detection from any camera

Poor lighting, glare, camera shake, low resolution, hidden targets, or still liquid can make a scene unsuitable.

Replacement of human responsibility

ABYSS narrows review candidates and records. It does not remove operator responsibility.

Exact concentration or material identity

BOD, COD, exact turbidity, oil type, oil-film thickness, or chemical composition require appropriate measurement methods.

Consumer repair workflows

ABYSS is built for industrial, infrastructure, and process-monitoring use cases, not household repair or consumer inspection.

A narrower PoC is usually a better PoC.

Start with one asset, one visible anomaly, and one operational decision. The first meeting can happen before confidential footage or drawings are shared.
