Itumo Inc. introduces ABYSS, a visual fluid AI for industrial teams that need to monitor fluid scenes without starting from new dedicated sensing hardware. ABYSS uses existing camera footage to surface candidate changes that operators can review.
The core idea is simple: existing cameras can become visual fluid sensors. ABYSS reads visible fluid movement, surface anomalies, foam, scum, oil-film candidates, turbidity appearance, and level changes from footage, then helps teams narrow down what should be reviewed, recorded, or escalated.
Designed for practical PoC validation
ABYSS does not claim that any camera can immediately detect any anomaly. The first step is to validate camera angle, resolution, lighting, night visibility, reflections, rain, lens contamination, target size in frame, and whether a human can visually understand the change from the footage.
- Industrial wastewater monitoring for foam, scum, turbidity appearance, oil-film candidates, and level changes
- Process-fluid monitoring where operators visually inspect tanks, pits, channels, and liquid surfaces
- River CCTV and waterway monitoring for visible field-condition candidates and record support
- Camera health checks such as stopped video, frame shift, lens contamination, and unusable footage
What ABYSS does not replace
ABYSS complements sensors, field inspection, and operator review. It does not replace official measurement, compliance decisions, sampling, regulated release decisions, flood forecasting, evacuation decisions, or responsible human judgment.
This boundary is intentional. In many facilities, numeric sensors and SCADA data explain values, while camera footage explains what the scene looked like. ABYSS focuses on that visual layer.
